"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

I love reading and studying God's holy word, so as you can imagine, I have many favorite scriptures. To disclose a little more about myself, I thrive more when I feel balanced. I'm able to charge ahead when I feel unbalanced, but I can tell the difference, which is why I try to avoid overwhelming myself. Every Christian should know that no matter how hard we try, there are times and situations when being overwhelmed haunts us down. It's not always the case of a self-inflicted wound. When the enemy knows your strengths and weaknesses, he's going to test them as often as God allows.

I want to empower you with a particular bible verse that helps me settle down, refocus, and reenergize. Before sharing that verse, I'd like to share with you the mission statement I developed for both personal and business use: "To educate and empower individuals, families, and communities for healthy and productive living." The scripture I've placed side by side with the above mission statement is found in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Therefore, to educate and empower for healthy and productive living, I must believe in Philippians 4:13 even when life sometimes goes sideways. When life happens, I'm not afraid to pause, regather myself, and continue charging ahead.

As you prepare for what life has in store for you today, you might find life going sideways rather than lining up the way in which you desire. Remember to remind yourself that you, too, possess the ability to achieve great things because it is Christ who strengthens you. Carry this Discipleship Devotional in your spirit, heart, and mind.
