"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:18-19
Every year, I get so excited about October. For me, and the churches I have served as senior pastor, I've taught by God's direction, the importance of setting aside time for prayer and preparations for the coming new year. What better time to do this than October, the heart of the Fall season? A time when things slow down before things pick back up for the approaching holiday season.
I invite each of my readers to take this thirty-one-day journey with me, because it's a journey you won't regret. By the end of this month (October), your plans for the new year will be in place. That doesn't mean that your plans will not change, because there's always the possibility, but it does mean that you will slow down and take the time needed for prayer and seeking God's face and direction.
I invite you to begin this month's Prayer and Preparation Period with prayer. Here's what I ask you to pray for this evening:
Prayer for a Fresh Start
Pray for Divine Purpose for the New Year
Pray for Holistic Growth (Mind, Body, Spirit, Emotions, and Soul)
I want you to know that I am not asking you to do anything that I am not willing to do myself. Today, I ask God to bless me with a fresh start. I ask God to clearly reveal my purpose in my family, church, and our non-profit ministry. I begin this preparation period prayerfully seeking holistic growth in my mind, body, spirit, emotions, and soul.
Are you ready?
Do you want a clear vision for the new year?
Are you ready for what God has prepared for you?
If your answer is yes, I want to welcome you to this month's Prayer and Preparation Period.
Welcome aboard!
