The past week has been full of excitement and new possibilities. Our new marketing campaign for our nonprofit has kicked off; our men's discipleship training will start in the coming weeks; and we are intentionally partnering with other churches and ministries. It's safe to say a lot has been going on. No matter how busy life gets, one constant should always remain: make sure you are taking good care of yourself. I don't mean that in a selfish way, but I do mean it in a self-preservation way. If you're not careful, you can easily lose sight of yourself and your well-being:

  • Read a book.
  • Go to a movie.
  • Get out and enjoy a good meal and a genre of music that fits your taste.

I'm simply encouraging you not to hesitate or be afraid to take care of yourself. Over the past 20 years, the Lord has blessed me to be a pastor, to write a book, to train, and to be a mental health professional. Without regret, I'm always giving and helping people in one way or another, but what about me? I'm a big believer in self-care, and I practice it regularly. In fact, next month I will start my bass guitar lessons simply because I love music.

As the Lord continues to direct you in work and ministry, please don't forget about yourself.
