Ten years ago (August 8, 2016), I was at my lowest; I hit rock-bottom following Brenda's death. Without question, that was the most difficult time of my life. After finding my way through grief and getting to the other side, I was led by God to once again put my favorite scripture (II Corinthians 1:3-7 NLT) to practice:
"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us."
Instead of remaining stuck in my grief, God, through His comfort, brought healing and peace in my life as He directed me to bring healing and peace in the life of people grieving the death of their loved one. For the past several years, I've been blessed by God to help people move from pain to peace by facilitating a 13-week grief support group one (1) to two (2) times each year and providing Christ-dentered grief counseling. I am so thankful to God for providing me the opportunity to comfort others with the same comfort He provided me.
I invite you to join me for two special ocassions:
