"The plans of the diligent lead to profit, but those who are hasty come only to poverty." Proverbs 21:5
There are some things in life that you will never get tired of doing. For example, I retired this year after 25 years in mental health. There are some things I no longer have the tolerance or patience for. Still, at the same time, other things will never get old—mental health services like premarital counseling, grief counseling, and conflict resolution-management. I can provide those services until I am no longer able to, because of personal experience, those services spiritually drove me into the mental health profession, and those services will always be a crucial part of my life.
You may not be at retirement age, but then again, you may be close. If so, now is a good time to start making plans for what life will look like after retirement.
What are your passions?
What do you love doing?
What in your life will never get old?
Whatever that may be for you, prayerfully consider making it a part of your retirement, but make sure you do so in a healthy and productive manner. Remember, "Retirement isn't the end of the road; it's the beginning of the best journey yet!"
