I'm one of those people who try to see the glass half full rather than half empty. There are times when that's easier said than done, especially when we look at what's happening in the United States today. What we are witnessing on our streets today is the kind of behavior that routinely occurs in developing countries. Regardless of what's happening around us, thinking positively may be difficult right now, but it's not impossible.

Today, I encourage you to make every effort to see what's right, despite being surrounded by so much that's wrong. This morning, I read three Bible verses I want to share with you. Allow these verses to serve as your guiding light in times of great darkness:

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." Phillippians 4:8

"And be not comformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:2

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

Remember the words of Karen Salmansohn: "You gotta look for the good in the bad, the happy in your sad, the gain in your pain, and what makes you grateful not hateful."
