"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

Yesterday was a disappointing day for me, but it was one I was prepared for because of my Discipleship
Devotionals are not just for my readers; they are for me as well. Like you, I also prepare myself for what
God has in store for me each day. Although I may be disappointed, my faith will not be overshadowed because I believe God will do the impossible. I honestly don't know how God is going to make yesterday's disappointments better, but I know that he will.

When Jesus showed up four (4) days late and told Mary that he is the resurrection and the life, he followed by asking her if she believed him. Mary did not have a clue as to how in the world Jesus would bring Lazarus back to life after he had been dead four (4) days; still, regardless of her lack of understanding, Mary replied by letting the Lord know that she didn't know how he was going to do it; she believed he would. Mary believed in the impossible, and Jesus rewarded her faith by bringing her brother (Lazarus) back to life after being dead for four (4) days.

CeCe Winans recently released a new song entitled "Believe for It". This song challenges each Christian to do what Mary was challenged by Jesus to do: to believe the possible when things seemed impossible. Here are a few of the lyrics to this powerful song:

They say this mountain can't be moved
They say these chains will never break
But they don't know You like we do
There is power in Your name

We've heard that there is no way through
We've heard the tide will never change
They haven't seen what You can do
There is power in Your name
So much power in Your name

Move the unmovable
Break the unbreakable
God we believe
God we believe for it
From the impossible

We'll see a miracle
God we believe
God we believe for it

The full video link to this song is attached to this Discipleship Devotional. As part of your devotional today, take a few minutes to listen and be blessed. As you prepare for what life has in store for you today, remember that whatever obstacles stand in your way. Whatever disappointments you face today, I encourage you to believe that God will move the unmovable, break the unbreakable, and do the impossible.
