Welcome to Marriage Ready 3-Part Series.

Marriage Ready is designed to help couples enter marriage with wisdom, confidence, and clarity. If you are engaged, seriously dating, or preparing for marriage, we would be honored to walk alongside you in this important season.

Today, we will explore Part 1 (The Why) of this 3-Part series on Marriage Ready with the following question.

Why is premarital counseling important?

There are many answers to this question, so for the sake of time, I will only share a few:

  1. 50% of marriages end in divorce.
  2. Only 24%-30% complete premarital counseling, because many couples believe premarital counseling isn't needed until suddenly it is.
  3. Couples spend more time preparing for their wedding than investing in their marriage.

In summary, premarital counseling provides couples with the opportunity to strengthen communication, develop healthy conflict resolution skills, build trust, discuss expectations, establish a strong spiritual and emotional foundation before entering marriage, and learn to navigate challenges together.

Remember, failing to prepare for marriage is a lot like preparing to fail.
