"Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people," Luke 2:10
I don't know how you feel about the political climate today, but I am exhausted. Even though I know it's possible, and we will likely survive the current environment with time, I still ask myself, do we (America) possess the strength/energy to survive what many have described as one political circus act after another? Every single day, day in and day out, is one political drama episode after another. As I watched my daily news digest this morning, the above thoughts raced through my heart and mind. No matter your preference for news, I hope and pray you realize that watching too much news is unhealthy, unproductive, and a recipe for chaos.
To help balance my day with good tidings, I've been reading Christmas poems over the past few days. Today, I would like to share one of the poems I've recently read, "My Christmas Magic," by Line Gauthier, with you for today's Discipleship Devotional:
This holiday season a multitude of gifts is not what I am craving This Christmas my desire is for the luxury of peace of warmth and time I know I'm asking for a lot but I pledge to do my best to truly make it happen
As you prepare for what life has in store for you today, make every effort to pass the peace from one to another. When we all contribute positively, we can cultivate peace that warms the hearts of many over time.
