Today, let's continue my series "One Prayer at a Time" with Prayer-3 (P3). Once again, James 4:2 says, "You have not because you ask not." As stated during Prayer-2 devotional, the meaning behind James' statement centers around him warning Christians to avoid insecurities/shortcuts when it comes to prayer.

Insecurities/Shortcuts like: 

  • Creating an atmosphere of conflict/jealousy
  • Scheming to block the blessings of others because of your own insecurities

James is simply instructing the saints to trust God to bless each Christian in accordance to His will, and not worry about or compare yourself to how God is blessing someone else. Ask yourself, do I celebrate with others when God showers them with blessings, or am I filled with feelings of jealousy and insecurity? I hope and pray you celebrate with God's people. If so, I invite you to pray with us as we ask God for the following:
