Despite the challenges we face from one season to the next, God is still good. As I prepared yesterday's Discipleship Devotional the Lord took me back to the pandemic. I thought about the large number of churches that closed their doors for the last time. I also thought about nonprofits and for-profits that went under never to return. And then I look at us (LifePoint and LifeLine) and the Lord laid it upon my heart that we are still here.

When people ask me how I achieved so many things starting at such a young age, I often respond with two statements:

Statement One

Disciples are not born they are made, which often involves painful seasons. God knows I've had my share.

Statement Two

I do not worry about the insecurities of others because what God has for me is for me.

Today, I woulld like to help you overcome and/or get past the "if''s" in your life:

  • If you are facing one spiritual battle/life obsticle after another, remember, Christianity is a free gift, but discipleship cost something.
  • If you've made your share of past mistakes and can't let go because of feelings of unworthiness, remember, God has forgiven you, so why not forgive yourself.
  • If you are dealing with the jealousy and insecurities of other people, remember, what God has for you is for you.

Steven Furtick said, "Don't let the enemy make you feel like your past is so bad that you aren't worthy of anything. If God isn't tripping over it, why are you? Let it go!"

Joyce Meyer said, "Before you judge someone else, stop and think about all that God has forgiven you."

Regardless of the obstacles you face, take a few minutes and thank God for his blessings; there's plenty to be thankful for:

  • Thank the Lord for helping you survive the pandemic.
  • Thaank God for making a way out of no way.
  • Thank the Almighty for gounding you and making you the Christian you are today.

We can never say "thank you" enough.
